Police continue to investigate after a boy was assaulted near a Buckinghamshire school.

The attack took place on March 10 at around 3.30pm near Sir William Ramsay School on Beechfield Way in Hazlemere.

A member of the public who had intervened when the boy was being attacked had their car roof damaged.

The headteacher, Christine McLintock, said the "possible aggressor does not attend Sir William Ramsay School" but could not comment further due to the ongoing investigation.

The victim of the attack ran away, police said.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "I can confirm that Thames Valley Police has received a report of an assault that happened at around 3.30pm on Thursday, March 10 near Beechfield Way, Hazlemere.

"A member of the public intervened and their car was damaged as a result. The victim of the assault ran away.

"An investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone with information can contact police by calling 101 or making a report online, quoting reference 43220106448."
