A speeding driver has had their car towed away after they were caught without insurance in High Wycombe.

Police officers on patrol in the Castlefield area of the town last night (Sunday) noticed a silver car that was breaking the speed limit.

After pulling over the driver, the officers ran a check and discovered that they were also on the road without insurance.

In the Thames Valley, officers have the right to seize vehicles when the driver has no insurance or if they do not have a proper driving licence.

Drivers have to pay a minimum of £150 to get their vehicles back from the impound.

In a post on social media, TVP Wycombe said: “Last night officers stopped a vehicle which was speeding around the Castlefield area of High Wycombe, putting people at risk.

“The vehicle was then seized for having no insurance.”
