COSMETIC surgery specialist The Hair Dr has opened a branch in Beaconsfield Old Town after a shift in demand for hair transplant procedures to treat male and female pattern boldness and alopecia.

The private clinic, located in a Grade II listed building at 51 London Road in Beaconsfield, was restored into a fully registered medical office.

The Hair Dr decided to launch their services after an increase in demand and more people seeking treatment in the UK rather than travelling to popular surgery destinations such as Turkey.

Dr Hamza Ahmed, surgeon and clinical lead at Hair Dr Bucks and known as Dr Hamza, said: “The COVID lockdown was a major turning point for the hair transplantation scene with the advent of virtual meetings.

“This ‘zoom boom’ has made people more aware and conscious of their appearance and hairline.”

Consumers were becoming wiser about the pitfalls of travelling abroad for medical procedures and access to continuous aftercare is why people are choosing to get treatment locally, he said.

“At The Hair Dr we take a slightly different approach to hair restoration. We see the process of hair restoration as a journey rather than a “one hit fix”.

“Our clinic offers a holistic and bespoke hair treatment and restoration service by precisely identifying our clients’ goals and expectations.”

The clinic's range of services includes advanced surgical and non-surgical techniques and emphasis is put on achieving long-term results, Dr Hamza said.

Before setting up shop in Old Town, the company renovated the listed building with support from the Bucks Council conservation officers and the landlords.

"With hair restoration treatments on the rise and more and more people wanting to remain in the UK with a clinic that they can trust, we feel now is the perfect time to launch."

He added: "At the Hair Dr we truly believe in not only restoring our patients hairlines but also their smiles."
