HAVE you ever fancied yourself as landlord or landlady of a pub?

A trip to the local pub has always been a British staple and Buckinghamshire boasts some of the best.

We took a deep dive to see which pubs are currently on the market and looking for a change over in those running it.

1. Hour Glass pub, Chapel Lane in High Wycombe

Bucks Free Press:

This 'sports-led pub' is pitched as being in a great position close to Wycombe Wanderers Football Club, with very little other pub offerings nearby.

It includes a large beer garden, lounge area, pool and darts, small kitchen and seven-space car park.

The HG is on the market - as part of a tenancy agreement - in a 'reasonable condition although could do with a tidy up'.

There is private accommodation included with three bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, and living room.

2. Horse & Jockey, Church Road in High Wycombe

This pub is pitched as being located in the 'idyllic, affluent village of Penn' - near High Wycombe.

An advert - offering a lease agreement - says the Horse and Jockey boasts a cosy interior with low-beamed ceilings, a warm fireplace interior and distinctive heritage finishes.

There is also a beer garden, children's play area, and car park.

Private accommodation includes two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, and living room.

Rent: £49,017 a year

 

3. The Garibaldi, Hedsor Road in Bourne End

Bucks Free Press:

The traditional 20th century Garibaldi pub has been at the centre of the community for more than a century, and owned by the locals since 2013.

Adverts pitch it as being rumoured to have been frequented by Giuseppe Garibaldi in the late 1800s, and boasts ceiling beams, wooden floors, and has a wood-burning stove.

There is also a kitchen, conservatory, beer garden, and 10-space car park.

Shareholders own the property freehold and first floor accommodation includes a double-bedroom, lounge, additional mid-sized room, and a bathroom - plus a kitchenette.

It is on the market as a tenancy agreement.

Rent: £20,000 a year

 

4. Cherry Tree, Straight Bit in High Wycombe

Bucks Free Press:

This 'family-friendly local' is in the village of Flackwell Heath and serves a 'close-knit' community.

It is advertised as open plan, single-bar operations with fantastic outdoor space and a car park. IT also includes a kitchen and live sports et up.

Little details have been revealed on this little gem and private accommodation details are 'to be confirmed'.

5. The Squirrel, in Penn, Amersham

Bucks Free Press:

This little local has been described as a 'beautiful Chilterns village pub' as the heart of Penn Street.

The Squirrel pub - close to the common used by Penn Street Cricket Club - has two main areas: the bar and dining area.

Advertised as having a 'decent sized kitchen', external covered veranda, large beer garden, and parking.

The Squirrel's landlords, according to the advert, will undertake an extensive refurb with a focus on externals before reopening.

Private accommodation includes three bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, and bathroom.
