A COMEDIAN has apologised to Bucks residents after not showing up to a fundraising event.

Russell Kane slammed rail operator Avanti West Coast on Twitter for the disruption to his journey to Aylesbury on Sunday, March 27.

The comedian issued an apology and explained the train he was on was travelling at 103mph before hitting a sheep.

The driver then inspected the train to find the sheep had died.

Russell Kane was travelling towards Milton Keynes at the time when the train collided with the sheep.

Avanti West Coast said the train service was experiencing a lot of challenges.

An Avanti West Coast spokesperson said, “We can only apologise for the delay to our service yesterday and to those expecting to see Russell in Aylesbury.

"This was as a result of Covid related staffing issues and animals on the line north of Milton Keynes.”
