A section 60 order granting police additional powers has been extended in a Bucks town as officers continue a murder investigation.

The order, which gives officers greater stop and search powers, has been put in place in Milton Keynes after a 21-year-old man died after he suffered stab wounds in The Hide, Netherfield.

Thames Valley Police extended the order yesterday evening, meaning it will continue to be in place until 5pm today (Thursday).

Since the order was first put in place, an increased police presence has been seen in the area and officers have been proactively stopping people in the community.

Thames Valley Police has advised that people should not be worried if they are stopped by an officer in the area.

The force is continuing to appeal for witnesses as it continues its murder investigation.

On Monday, at around 11.34pm, officers were called to The Hide following reports of a stabbing.

The victim was rushed to Milton Keynes University Hospital but sadly died from his injuries on Tuesday morning.

If you have any information about the incident, call police on 101, using reference 2376 of 28/3. Or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
