Police have captured four robbers after they committed a crime 50 miles away.

On Wednesday afternoon the four offenders committed a robbery in Sussex, and having made it to Taplow, they may have thought they had got away with the crime.

Unfortunately for them, the officers in Sussex put the details of their vehicle into the police database. 11 minutes later, Thames Valley Police officers had arrested the four suspects.

The officers were also able to successfully recover the stolen property.

In a post on social media, TVP Roads Policing praised the effectiveness of the technology.

It said: “Technology’s a wonderful thing. Robbery in the Sussex Area this lunch time.

“Local officer placed a marker on the vehicle used in the robbery.

“11 minutes after marker went onto the system, four people arrested for robbery and property recovered by Taplow Roads Policing Unit.”
