A person abandoned their electric scooter after they were spotted by police.

Officers in Holmer Green retrieved the scooter from the middle of the road after the rider fled the area on foot.

Thames Valley Police (TVP) took to social media to remind residents that privately owned e-scooters shouldn't be used on roads or public places.

The post said: "To the rider who dropped this and ran from us in Holmer Green earlier…

"Don’t worry we retrieved it from the middle of the road and it is now safe and sound with us! Feel free to give us a call on 101, we’d love a chat

"A timely reminder that privately owned e-scooters must not be used on roads or public places. For more information please visit here."
