PLANS for a big housing development on a field have been permitted.

Bucks Council has granted conditional permission to Vistry Partnerships for lots of new homes on land north of Clay Hill and east of Clay Lane, in Booker.

Vistry will build 39 properties (19 affordable), including three blocks of flats (18 homes in total) and 20 houses and one bungalow, with an open space.

There will also be new vehicle access from Clay Hill, and 93 parking spaces.

Another application by the developer for 41 properties and between 76-105 parking spaces was submitted in November 2020, but later withdrawn in November 2021.

It is understood the site has been used to graze horses.

The schemes have received pushback from locals in the past, fearing increased traffic, impact on services such as schools, and destruction of wildlife.

Mrs Ruth Highfield previously said: “How on earth can 41, or now as I understand it 39 houses be considered for approval on Green Belt area land?

“Clay Lane is already a very busy road, especially with the increased traffic caused by the relatively new facility at High Heavens.”

The site is allocated for residential development in the adopted Wycombe District Local Plan.
