A Chesham man who was caught drunk and on drugs while behind the wheel in High Wycombe has been banned from the roads.

Mohammed Butt, 33, of Oak Field, Chesham was over the drink drive limit and had traces of THC in his system when he was pulled over in Amersham Road, High Wycombe, on September 9, 2021.

When officers checked his blood alcohol level, he gave a reading of 128 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrams.

Butt also failed a drug test carried out by officers at the same time.

At a hearing at Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on March 21, Butt was sentenced after he admitted to multiple offences.

The Kia driver pleaded guilty to drink driving, drug driving, driving without due care and attention, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.

Butt was given a 12-month disqualification for drug driving and a 14-month ban for drink driving.

He was also fined a total of £480 and told to pay £133 in costs.
