Children are being asked to submit something creative about the planet which could end up in a book.

Amersham Town Council (ATC) is inviting local kids to send in a personal piece of art or writing that best expresses how they feel about the world.

All entries will be showcased at its Green and Blue exhibition on Saturday, June 4.

And 100 submissions will be published in a book called Green and Blue: Short Stories and Poems by Children to Inspire Change, which all published entrants will receive a copy of.

Also, one winner will be selected from each of the three age categories (4-6, 7-11, 12-16) for an exciting prize.

“We are inviting all school-aged children residing in Amersham to submit either a full-page illustration/comic strip, short story or letter (max. 150 words), or any style of poem to express their concerns, solutions and wisdom to highlight the plight of our planet and inspire positive change,” ATC.

Text submissions should be sent in a Word document to michellec@amersham-tc-gov.uk and printed as a hardcopy with the child’s name, age and school written on the back.

Post or hand deliveries: Amersham Town Council, Flint Barn Court, Church Street, Old Amersham, HP7 0DB.

The closing date is Friday, April 29.
