A dangerous predator who drove over 40 miles with the intention of sexually abusing three children aged as young as two has been jailed.

Allan Robins, 69, made arrangements to travel from Corby in Northamptonshire to Milton Keynes after contacting a person in a chatroom who he believed had three children aged two, seven and nine, that he would be allowed to sexually abuse.

After making contact in December 2021, he travelled to Milton Keynes to meet the person and their children - but what he didn't know is that it was actually a sting, and he was talking to an undercover police officer.

He was arrested as he arrived at the address in Milton Keynes.

Robins tried to claim he had only gone to find out their address and report them to the police, but that was disproven at court and he was jailed for three counts of arranging the commission of a child sexual offence.

At Northampton Crown Court at the end of last month (March 31), he was handed a five year and seven month prison sentence.

He was also issued with a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and was placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register until further notice.

DS Helena Congreve from Northamptonshire Police's POLIT Team, said: “I welcome the sentence handed out to Allan Robins as he has shown himself to be a dangerous predator who was willing to meet a child as young as two in order to sexually abuse them.

“I hope this case shows the proactivity with which we treat child sex offences – that we will not wait for cases to come to us but that we will use various tactics to catch people like Allan Robins and bring them to justice.”
