An incredible family mansion belonging to a physicist who had a hand in the development of the Seawolf surface-to-air missile system has finally been sold after "several years".

The beautiful Victorian-style seven-bed mansion belonging to Jeff McManus and his wife Wendy at Main Court, in Main Drive, Gerrards Cross, has been on the market for a while, but a deal has at last been done.

It went on the market with a guide price of £6 million.

While the gorgeous home looks Victorian, it was actually Jeff who travelled all over the country to find the exact bricks, tiles and other features that would provide the genuine character of a house built a century ago.

The house he built 30 years ago features an 11-metre indoor swimming pool, a basement garage with enough space for 10 cars, seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a wine cellar, two orangeries, a tennis court, lift access to all four floors and a huge sun terrace.

Not to mention the uninterrupted views of the nearby Bulstrode Park estate.

Jeff said the only reason they put the sprawling mansion on the market in the first place is because the couple no longer have the need for so many rooms and want to downsize.

Rahesh Jivan, from Fine and Country, helped facilitate the sale and said the deal is set to be complete by mid May.
