While many smokers may discard their used cigarettes on the ground without thinking, it is a criminal offence and different areas of the country enforce littering rules strictly - as Mr Georgi, 40, found out the hard way.
According to Bristol City Council, if you're caught committing an environmental crime such as littering, you'll be given a fixed penalty notice charge (fine) on the spot. If you don't pay the fine it'll be transferred to a court prosecution process.
