The driver and passengers of a BMW are "lucky to be alive" after the car was completely destroyed in a crash this morning.

Thames Valley Police's roads policing unit were called to Milton Keynes this morning (Sunday), where they found the black car had left the road completely and ended up in the undergrowth.

A recovery vehicle had to be dispatched to remove the wreck from the shrubbery.

Thames Valley Police revealed that suspected drink driving and speeding were among the reasons for the crash.

Fortunately, no one in the vehicle appeared to be seriously injured.

In a post on social media, TVP Roads Policing said: "The occupants of this BMW are lucky to be alive after crashing in Milton Keynes.

"Alcohol and speed do not mix, driver awaits court."
