A driver who was caught speeding at over 100mph near High Wycombe told police they were rushing to catch a ferry to go on holiday.
A Thames Valley Police unmarked car was on patrol on the M40, near Junction 2, o Saturday night when it recorded a car speeding at 101mph.
The driver, who had their family with them in the car, told officers they were trying to catch a ferry to go on holiday.
Unfortunately for the driver, they will have a court date to make when they get back from their trip.
In a post on social media, TVP Roads Policing said: "Our unmarked patrol identified this motorist travelling at 101mph on the M40 near Beaconsfield with their family on board.
"The driver said they were trying to catch a ferry for their holiday.
"Now they await a court date on their return."
