A fire ripped through a garden in Flackwell Heath this morning with footage emerging of the beginning minutes of the blaze.

The fire was first discovered by a six-year-old as nearby residents rushed for the entrance into Wilks Park to deal with the incident.

Two fire engines were seen outside a home on Oakland Way which backs onto the football ground of Flackwell Heath F.C..

The fire could be seen by neighbors as a number of trees in the area went up in flames.

Emergency services were called to the scene as police officers closed the road at around 10am this morning.

The fire has since been put out by the fire crews and the club has confirmed that nobody was hurt and the damage has been limited to the fence and trees.

A club spokesman said on social media: "A fire started in an adjacent garden this morning at Wilks Park.

"A big thank you to High Wycombe Fire Brigade for bringing under control.

"Nobody was hurt and damage has been limited to the fence and trees."

The Bucks Free Press has approached Bucks Fire & Rescue for a statement on the incident.
