Sam Vokes has committed his future to Wycombe Wanderers by signing a contract extension.
The 32-year-old, who joined the club from Stoke City last summer, has so far scored 17 goals in 49 games in what has been a brilliant season for the Welshman.
His efforts saw him win the club’s Player’s Player of the Year this month, with his 50th match for the Chairboys potentially being against Sunderland in the League One play-off final.

Vokes pledged his future to the club by mutually agreeing to trigger an extension in his contract ahead of the final, which takes place at Wembley Stadium against Sunderland on Saturday, May 21.
Speaking on securing Vokes’ services for another season, Ainsworth said: “This is a massive statement of Sam’s commitment to Wycombe Wanderers, and of our ambitions to keep this squad as strong as it can possibly be.
“Bringing Sam to Adams Park last summer was a big coup for us and I’d say that keeping him here is even more significant, after the year he’s had.
“Sam has made this place his home from day one and he’s enjoying his football again after a frustrating period before he came here.
"He’s shown exactly why he’s earned so many caps for his country and played in the Premier League, and he’s led by example on and off the pitch.

“We’re delighted to get this deal completed and our attentions return to preparation for Saturday’s final, where we’ll be giving absolutely everything to win the game and bring Championship football to Adams Park.”

Prior to signing for the Chairboys, Vokes played for nine clubs, which included Wolverhampton Wanderers and Burnley in the Premier League.
He also has also represented Wales 64 times, scoring 11 goals.
One of those strikes was a header against Belgium in a quarter-final match at Euro 2016.
