A man has been charged with burglary after a vehicle and suspected stolen property has been recovered.

Officers arrived at the property within four minutes of a break-in after a member of the public rang 999 reporting "suspicious men" on Church Road in Iver Heath.

The men failed to stop and were followed by police into London where they were arrested on foot after leaving the car and alleged stolen items.

Thames Valley Police (TVP) say that enquiries are ongoing.

A TVP spokesperson said: "A big thank you to the vigilant member of the Iver community yesterday for having the confidence to phone 999 reporting the suspicious males on Church road Iver Heath.

"The males went on to commit a burglary but due to the early report the Iver NHPT sergeant and roads policing unit arrived within 4 minutes.

"Picking up the offenders leaving in a vehicle, they failed to stop for police and were pursued into London.

"Knowing the game was up, they ditched the car and goods and made off on foot.

"A male from west Drayton was detained, arrested, charged and remanded for Burglary."
