Thousands of children took part in the annual Festival of Football hosted by Flackwell Heath FC.

Taking place across May 28 and 29 in the village, youngsters from all over the county and beyond descended to South Buckinghamshire to partake in the event.

It was the first time since 2019 that the mega tournament was played in May, which is the event’s traditional month.

In 2021, the Festival of Football was played in September due to the Covid-19 pandemic, whilst in 2020, the event was scrapped.

Club Chairman Declan Breen said: “We were so lucky with the weather, it wasn't too hot for the players but nice enough for lots of our visitors and village friends.

"Some of the winning teams came from Holmer Green, Ruislip and Wealdstone.

"The tournament was a tremendous success and we're hoping to have raised enough money to help with some improvements to our ground and car park, we've had some great feedback and above all, a lot of the kids had a great experience playing football."
