The crowds were out across High Wycombe as people had put on their party shoes to enjoy the second day of Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
At the Great Loudwater Jubilee Fayre at St Peter’s Church in Loudwater, more than 300 children, parents and carers and volunteers from the Church of England church made the most of the sunny weather and entertainment.
This included games and go-karting, a BBQ, inflatables, live music and a bake-off competition.
Inside the church, nine-year-old Lola was selling her beautifully crafted and fragranced candles and wax melts.

The young business owner said: “My favourite is Noir Opium.”
“I live with my mom and my big brother. I am from High Wycombe and I love candles.
“I started a new hobby at the beginning of 2022 which was making candles and wax melts. I enjoy it so much I want to share it with you,” Lola’s placard said.
Lola’s brother had made flapjacks for sale, and he supported her entrepreneur-sister at the busy stall.
The mouth-watering fragrances of the candles were matched by their beautifully crafted shapes as mock chocolate bars, hearts and cubes. Her Union Jack hat and clothes also matched the products.
At Adams Park, hundreds of people had come through to the area to enjoy what Sands Jubilee Summer Fair had to offer.
There were market stalls, mascots, activities like dancing, hola-hoops and football penalty shoot-out and even house plants for sale.
The High Wycombe Beekeeping Association members showed fair-goers how the bees on display were fed sugary water, and Sands Honey stall holders were nearly sold out of the locally produced honey.
Hellfire Motor Vehicle Club vehicles were decorated with Union Jack bunting to mark the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
Melissa Arnolds, 63, was dressed for the occasion in an old military coat with a burgundy belt and fur over her shoulders.
The High Wycombe resident, who has met Queen Elizabeth at a horse show, said: “I’ve only known one Queen during my life, but my mother saw four monarchs.
“I’m all for Queen Camilla when it happens.”
Ms Arnolds told how her mother once almost mowed Queen Elizabeth “flat” at a horse show in Burghley, when she took a step back, and the monarch was standing behind her.
On The Rye, families were scattered across the park, some in the shade from the scorching sun and others playing football, frisbee, cricket and having picnics.

Others enjoyed the fun fair and its more than a dozen rides and entertainment, including ‘Hotel Horror’ for those who dared to venture in, bouncy castles, bumper cars and a giant slide and Spiderman- themed trampoline.

He summarised the mood of the day: “It’s been a fantastic day, the kids love it.”
