A High Wycombe man who injured two people in a hit and run crash on one of the town's busiest roads has avoided going to jail AGAIN.

Sohaib Khan, aged 26, of Crest Road, injured two people in a crash on the A40 London Road in High Wycombe in February 2020.

Instead of stopping to see if they were ok, Khan fled the scene.

On September 15, 2021, Khan avoided jail time when he was sentenced to a community order for the offence, but on May 11 he was hauled back in front of the magistrates at Wycombe Magistrates' Court after he failed to comply with the terms of the order.

The court heard how Khan failed to turn up to unpaid work sessions on February 14 and March 26.

The magistrates were told how Khan had shown a "low level" of compliance with the community order, so they decided to revoke it and hand him a harsher penalty after he admitted the breach.

Khan received a 20-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months, as well as ordering him to pay £20 costs.

The court heard that the sentence was suspended rather than immediate because he "has accommodation and is looking for work which are both positive points."
