On the June 5, Wycombe was blessed with its first Jazz Festival.

Courtesy of the organisers of the monthly Catchh22jams jazz night at The Front Room and Wycombe Arts Centre it was a fantastic night.

A mix of eclectic jazz, activities for the kids, great food stalls with the Catchh22jams beer Jazz Hops-it was a perfect end to the Jubilee Weekend.

Of course the music must take centre stage and indeed that was the order of the day.

Headline performances from established names like Matt Johnson from Jamiroquai and Yakul were stunning.

But standout displays for those still vying for their musical chops in the musical industry were equally awesome.

From Soraya Ray (due to perform at Penn Fest), Harry Bennett on the saxophone, Kymari Charles showing his amazing musicianship, Sloth and The City to Constant Rhythm Garden Machine.

For a debut festival built on only four months of preparation, Wycombe Jazz Festival was a stunning success.

It evidently provides some great foundation for the follow-up.

Indeed organisers stated: “This was all about getting that first festival out of the way.

"We were really happy.

"So for all Wycombe residents, stay tuned because we definitely want to bring you Wycombe Jazz Festival 2023.
