Wycombe Jazz Festival and St Paul’s Row Busking

After much anticipation, the Wycombe Jazz Festival arrived and delivered on Sunday, June 5.

Organised by the Catch22jams, the turn out was in its hundreds as many people from all walks of live attended the event at the Wycombe Arts Centre.

From listening to the some of the finest jazz sounds, to taking part in workshops, to eating on some of the many food stalls, it was really a day to remember.

The afternoon session was equally amazing as we heard music from groups and musicians such as Sloth and The City, Kymani Charles, Annette Burrows, House Jazz Ensemble, George Jack, and The Constant Rhythm Garden Machine.

The evening session saw local prodigies in Harry Bennett and Soraya Ray showcase their talents, whilst the MLN Ensemble continued to show their immense calibre and Yakul performed a brilliant set.

Matt Johnson of Jamiroquai closed the festival performing tracks from his new album, With the Music, which certainly got the crowd on their feet.

A spokesperson from Cacth22jams said: “We were really happy with the turnout.

“We hope to bring the Wycombe Jazz Festival back for 2023 as the town needs jazz back in the community and people seem to want it.”
