A time capsule was buried in the grounds of an Amersham care home during a ceremony to commemorate the establishment’s journey through the pandemic.
The Croft Care Home, which is situated on Chestnut Lane within the town, saw several of its residents plant items into the ground for them to be dug up in several decades' time.

Relics included a recent photograph of each of the residents with the reverse displaying their forename, age and their personal thoughts and feelings about ‘time today’ including their reflections about life at the care home, the Covid-19 pandemic, the NHS, current Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, and Queen Elizabeth II.
Louise Foyle-York, Manager at The Croft, said: “I am extremely proud of my team who really went above and beyond to organise this special event– and to enable the people we support to talk openly about their feelings.
"It was very emotional looking back over the past two years, there were some tears of sadness and joy and we all thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon.”
The Croft is a community based residential care home, run by national charity Ambient Support, in Amersham which provides care and support to 60 residents including up to 31 residents with a higher level of specific dementia care needs.
