The COP26 president and chair of the government’s climate action implementation Cabinet committee, Alok Sharma MP, spoke to local conservatives at Court Gardens Marlow last Thursday (July 30).

Alongside local MP Joy Morrissey, he provided an update on government action to tackle climate change and address the global challenges that rising temperatures present over the coming years.

He then took questions from the audience, which included a large number of young conservatives.

The Reading West MP said: “I was very pleased to be invited here by Joy Morrissey and the Marlow Conservative association and given the opportunity to talk to local members about vital progress as we approach COP27.

"I was especially pleased that there were so many young people present who are committed to the ambitious climate action necessary if we are to protect the planet and secure a better future for us all.”
