Twelve people were told to leave High Wycombe town centre by police yesterday - as they try to tackle anti-social behaviour following an early morning attack.

The Thames Valley Police South Buckinghamshire Neighbourhood Team said they were "out in force" on Tuesday, July 12, with the specific purpose of tackling bad behaviour.

It comes after someone was attacked in Frogmoor in the early hours of Tuesday morning, prompting police to cordon off the area.

Officers, along with council street wardens, issued 12 different people with a section 35 dispersal order, which means they cannot re-enter a specific area for up to 48 hours.

There have been complaints about anti-social behaviour ruining parts of the town centre for years, with Frogmoor once described as a place families would "avoid" because of drinking and abusive behaviour.

Although efforts have been made to improve the situation over the years, there is still more to be done.

Police urged people to report any issues they see in the town centre so they can tackle it.

They said: "Please remember to report your concerns around issues so we're able to utilise our powers productively and improve our local community."
