A runaway tyre briefly caused disruption in High Wycombe after it was spotted in the middle of a three-way road.

At around 3.45pm on Wednesday, July 13, the tyre was spotted in the inside left lane on the London Road/A40 heading towards the town centre.

One witness described that some cars saw the object ‘quite late’, before redirecting into the outside lane.

They also revealed that some motorists were hesitant in allowing others into the tyre-free lane, due to a large number of vehicles on the road.

After causing more disruption, the tyre was eventually moved to the pavement approximately an hour later.
