A woman was sexually assaulted by a man behind an Aylesbury shop. 

The woman, in her thirties, was attacked at the back of Wilko's in Britannia Street at around 5.15pm on Tuesday, July 12. 

The man was confronted by members of the public and became argumentative and agitated. 

Although there were people who saw what happened, police are urging anyone who knows anything but has not yet come forward to do so. 

A man aged 34 from Aylesbury has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and has been released on police bail while officers continue their investigation. 

Detective Constable Sandrine Bonomo-Fox, based at Aylesbury police station, said: “I would like to appeal to anybody who may have been in this area during this time and witnessed anything, or have any footage, to please get in touch.
