Wycombe Wanderers legend Adebayo Akinfenwa has been rumoured to appear in this year’s edition of ‘I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!’

The 40-year-old, who scored 61 goals across six seasons with the Chairboys, retired from the profession this summer after 22 years in the game, and has revealed he is open to trying out new adventures.

Since hanging up his boots, he has made several appearances on the radio station, Talk Sport, as a guest and as a presenter and prior to his retirement, he occasionally gave his analysis on Sky Sports during live EFL matches.

However, it has been alleged that the ‘Beast’ could be heading out to Australia this autumn to take part in what would be the 22nd edition of the show.

A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "Ade is in the frame and would be keen on appearing.

“He was a hardman on the pitch but is a gent off it.

"He’s also charismatic and funny and knows loads of people in the game."

This year’s show will return Down Under following the Covid-19 pandemic.

The previous two seasons have taken place in Wales.
