A new fashion store that sells high street brands at "rock bottom prices" all while helping charity is going to open at the end of the month.

There was major excitement in June from locals when it was announced that Newlife is opening a store in the Eden Shopping Centre on Eden Walk, next to Boots.

And now it has been revealed that the store will open its doors to shoppers on Thursday, July 28.

The store will be the tenth for Newlife the Charity for Disabled Children, a national charity supporting disabled children and their families across the UK, and their first in the south east - and will also be their biggest, at 15,000 square foot.

Newlife is different to traditional charity shops because it does not take stock donations from the public - instead, it works with retailers and manufacturers across the UK and Europe who donate new surplus stock that would otherwise go to landfill.

it will offer brand new ex-high street ladies, men's and children's clothing, all while helping to provide disabled and terminally ill children and their families with vital equipment and support.

In line with the shopping centre opening times, the store will be open from 9.30am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 5pm on Sunday.

Andrew Murphy-Hayes, Newlife Head of Retail Stores, said: “As we all know, the country is facing a huge cost of living crisis, which is affecting everyone, but shopping at Newlife means you get the latest fashionable looks you love for less, all while helping to transform the lives of children and families.

“Newlife is the largest charity provider of specialist equipment for children across the UK – and the sad fact is that without us, many children would have no choice but to go without vital equipment such as wheelchairs, specialist beds, seating and walking frames that make such a difference to keep them safe, free from pain and fulfil their potential or simply just come home from hospital so they can spend time with their family making memories.

“The more you shop with Newlife, the bigger the difference you can make, so shopping at Newlife means you can look good, feel good and do good.”
