INEXPERIENCED driver Alexander Koziol has been banned from driving for three months after being caught by police doing more than twice the speed limit in a built up area.

Magistrates at High Wycombe told the teenager that he 'simply could not do that' after being caught doing 74mph in a 30mph zone.

Koziol, of Deeds Grove, High Wycombe, pleaded guilty to exceeding the speed limit when he appeared at Wycombe Magistrates Court last Monday after being caught speeding along the Wycombe Road, in Marlow, at 11.18pm on October 24.

The 19-year-old, who passed his test two years ago, had previously pleaded guilty by letter saying 'he took full responsibility' and realised he was exceeding the limit.

He added that his car was important for his current 'lifestyle', for work, social and domestic use.

Chair of the magistrates, Marion Mulady, said: "Looking at the offence of speeding at 74mph in a 30mph zone, this was an extremely high speed in a built up area and we can find no mitigating factors."

She ordered Koziol to pay £135 fines and £35 costs and told him, "We have gone to these lengths because it was such a very high speed, you simply cannot do that."
