A drug driver who was caught on the A404 with cocaine in his system has been banned from the roads.

Michael Plausin, aged 30, was serving a driving ban when he was spotted by police travelling along a stretch of the main road in Maidenhead on February 11.

After he was pulled over by police, a drug wipe tested positive for cocaine.

At a hearing at Slough Magistrates' Court on Thursday 21 July, Plausin, of St Andrews Close in Old Windsor, pleaded guilty to driving over the drug drive limit and driving while disqualified.

After hearing the evidence, the justices gave Plausin an eight-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months.

He was also banned from driving for a further two years, ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work and told to pay £85 in costs.

Investigating officer, PC Luke Jenkins, said: “Plausin was stopped and tested positive for benzoylecgonine, a cocaine breakdown product.

“He was shown, through evidential testing, to be over the limit and has now been disqualified for holding or obtaining a license for 24 months.

“This is time enough for him to consider his actions and the risk that he posed to other road users on that day.”
