A senior carer who stole from another employee of a care home in High Wycombe has been fined.

Nitu Chopra, aged 43, was a senior carer at Holmers House Care Home in Holmers Farm Way when she went into a member of staff's bedroom and stole £20 from a drawer.

She was caught on CCTV and sentenced to pay a £300 fine and costs of £775 at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Friday (August 5).

“Chopra’s conviction was the direct result of the support of the victim and staff at the care home as well as the diligent and positive investigation by the Priority Crime Team,” said Investigating officer Detective Constable Gareth Cowley.

“Chopra was as a senior carer at the care home and although she only stole a small amount of money, the sentence handed down by the magistrates rightly reflected her breach of trust and the severity of her actions.”

Chopra, of Desborough Road, High Wycombe, committed the theft at 11.05pm on May 21, 2021.
