A man has suffered "serious injuries" following a crash on the M40 involving four vehicles.

Emergency services were called to the motorway between Junctions 10 and 11 yesterday (Wednesday) at around 3.25am following a crash involving a grey Hyunda i30, a yellow recovery truck and a Volvo lorry.

Not long after the collision, a grey Ford Transit van crashed into the Hyundai, which was stationary in the road.

The crash resulted in a large oil spill that forced the emergency services to shut the road for several hours on Wednesday.
