A coroner has provided an update on the investigation into the alleged murder of a father whose remains were discovered in a Bucks woodland.

A pre-inquest review into the death of 27-year-old Mohammed Shah Subhani, whose body was found in the woods next to the M40 near Beaconsfield on December 19, 2019.

The father-of-one had been missing for seven months, failing to return to his home in Hounslow since May 7, 2019.

In June 2022, three men were charged in connection with his death.

Amraj Poonia, 26, of Farmfield Drive, Horley; Raneel Poonia, 25, of Whitehouse Way, Slough; and Gurditta Singh, 25, of Moreland Avenue, Slough, were charged on with murder and perverting the course of justice.

Speaking today (Thursday) at Beaconsfield Coroners' Court, senior coroner for Buckinghamshire Crispin Butler provided an update on the inquest into Shah's death.

He said: "I was made aware on June 22 by the Metropolitan Police that three individuals were charged with homicide offences of murder in relation to Shah's death.

"From that point, the inquest investigation was suspended pending the outcome of criminal proceedings."

Amraj Poonia, Raneel Poonia and Singh are due to appear at the Old Bailey for a plea hearing on September 16. All three have been remanded in custody until that date.
