Buckinghamshire residents with a learning disability or autism and their families are invited to a vaccination session.

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is hosting a fifth vaccination session in Amersham Hospital on Sunday August 14.

The clinic will be held from 9.30am until 2.30pm in Main Outpatients (entrance C) section of the hospital.

Karen Bonner, Chief Nurse for the Trust said: “We make it as accessible and comfortable as possible for those with a learning disability and/or autism who want to have the COVID-19 vaccine to help protect themselves and their loves ones.”

If the clinic is oversubscribed, people will be contacted to arrange an alternative time or date for the jab.

A parent commented a previous vaccination session: “Thank you so so much for making it possible for my child to have his first vaccination.

“I can't tell you how grateful I am to you and the team. He coped with it very well and I'm hoping that, having had such a good experience, he will feel able to have the next one."

The autism and learning disability nurses can be contacted via 01296 316991 or email bht.covidvaccineteam@nhs.net for questions, adjustments or clinic attendance, and patients should tell their name and telephone number and the title ‘learning disability/autism clinic’.
