A Non League footballer has revealed that their bicycle was stolen after returning from a match.

Evans Brighton Lamboh, who plays for Aylesbury United after leaving Risborough Rangers this summer, had parked his ‘brand new’ mountain bike at Amersham Train Station on Saturday, August 13 ahead of the Ducks' away fixture at Harlow Town.

Upon return to Buckinghamshire a few hours later after his side drew 3-3 with the team from Essex, he noticed that the vehicle had been taken.

Taking to Twitter, Lamboh said: “Absolutely gutted.

“Got [the] train back home from my match yesterday [August 13], got to Amersham Station to find out my brand new bike has been stolen, fully chained up as well.

“No car, so my main mode of transport to work/football is gone.

“Reported to police but highly doubt I’ll get it back.”

The tweet has been shared over 30 times with many other users sending their good wishes to the footballer.

Bike thefts are prevalent in the country, with many of the items being kept by the perpetrator, or dumped in nearby lakes/rivers.

Last May, two magnet fishers from Aylesbury managed to find a mountain bike on their first-ever session, and after conducting their own investigation via Facebook, they were able to track down its rightful owner.

Lamboh continued: “Not sure what else I can do, bike cost an arm and a leg and with the tough times we’re in now, I’m pretty screwed for transport.

“Please share, retweet.

“Probably won’t do much but I’d still appreciate it.”

The footballer is hoping to obtain CCTV footage to try and track down who stole his bike.
