THE RELEASE date for High Wycombe's very own MONOPOLOPY board has been announced today.

High Wycombe has landed the big MONOPOLY bucks - beating other areas like Carmel in California and Sandbanks in Dorset.

Game bosses have revealed today (Monday, August 15), that the new official board game is being released on Friday, October 28 with stores in the town already taking pre-orders ahead of Christmas.

The board is set to showcase the following leading landmarks of High Wycombe, which have each been heavily tipped by the public on social media

The winning locations include: The Guildhall, Adams Park Stadium, Wycombe Arts Centre and Hughenden Manor.

Afolabi Omotola, from Winning Moves UK, said: “The game will feature the great and good of High Wycombe and we would like to thank everyone who sent in suggestions during our public consultation period earlier in the year.”

The announcemtn of Bucks getting it's very own MONOPOLY board game was announced on Valentine's day, with bosses saying they had 'fallen in love' with High Wycombe's heritage and charms.

The game will see the multi-coloured property squares all themed around High Wycombe landmarks  – with Chance and Community Chest cards customised too.

Mr Omotola, Custom Games Executive at Winning Moves UK - makers of this unique edition under official license from Hasbro, added: "We’ve been wonderfully spoilt for choice putting this board together.

“The game’s sets will be themed from heritage to tourism, culture to charity, sport to shopping - and more. The train station quartet set that features in the classic original MONOPOLY is being handed over to a travel theme for this new official version of the world’s most famous board game. That’s because High Wycombe doesn’t have a multitude of main line stations to select from like in the London MONOPOLY original.”
