Floral tributes have been left at the scene of a fatal crash that saw a 26-year-old motorbike rider die.
The man, named locally by his first name Ed, was killed after riding into a parked car on Nags Head Lane in Great Missenden at around 8pm on Saturday (August 13).
One resident's tribute said they are "heartbroken" following the tragic incident.
His identity has not yet been confirmed but his family has been informed and is being supported by specially trained officers.
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses to the crash and urge anyone with information to come forward.
He sustained serious injuries from the crash but was sadly pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of medics from South Central Ambulance and the Thames Valley Air Ambulance, as well as by members of the public.
No one else was injured as a result of the collision.
Investigating officer PC Richard Martin of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, based at Amersham, said: “Sadly following this incident a man has died, his next of kin have been informed and are being offered support.
“Our thoughts remain with them at this difficult time.
“We are appealing for witnesses and would particularly like to speak to anyone who may have seen the motorbike travelling in the local area prior to the collision.
“If anyone has information we would ask them to report online or call 101 quoting reference 43220361927.”
