Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity will officially open in Marlow tomorrow (August 19) with doors opening at 11am.

The opening event will be attended by Richard Scott, Mayor of Marlow, with free goody bags for the first 50 customers.

The charity store, opening at 19 West Street, will sell pre-owned fashion in the town for customers looking for high-quality items whilst supporting their local community and shopping sustainably.

Simon Barlow, the shop’s manager said: “In the run up to the opening we’ve been very busy curating a selection of high-quality products from our generous donors.

“We have received a very warm welcome from the local community, with many sharing their experiences of our Hospice.

“I look forward to meeting many more Marlow residents over the coming weeks and months.”

The Marlow store is the charity’s tenth shop, with all profits from sales supporting the charity to provide over £1,000,000 of specialist palliative care services each year for patients across Buckinghamshire and its borders.

Lily Caswell, head of retail for Florence Nightingale Hospice Charity, added: “We’re so excited to be opening our shop in a beautiful, historic property in a prime location.

“We’re thrilled to be coming to Marlow, bringing with us sustainable shopping and raising awareness of the work our charity does in Buckinghamshire.”

Florence Nightingale Hospice serves patients across Buckinghamshire, and provides the only bedded In-Patient Unit in the county as well as delivering hospice care services in the community.

The charity is also looking for volunteers to join the shop’s team – if you would like to find out more, visit www.fnhospice.org.uk/volunteer
