Chiltern Railways is urging people not to travel unless it is absolutely essential this weekend amid further strike action.

Their services are expected to be very busy this weekend (Friday, August 19 to Sunday, August 21) as a result of the school summer holidays and planned engineering works.

Chiltern Railways said: "We strongly advise customers to only travel if absolutely essential due to planned RMT industrial action on this date. A significantly reduced timetable will be in place on the strike day.

"Due to planned engineering works between High Wycombe and Bicester, no service will operate North of High Wycombe, with no provision of rail replacement buses. Services will start much later and finish much earlier than usual."
