A free photo exhibition is set to mark High Wycombe's storied history.

A Walk Through Wycombe's Past will open up at the shopping centre on Thursday 1 September, charting the rise of the town since it first appeared on the map in AD 970.

Since its humble beginnings as a milling town, High Wycombe has grown to a population of over 130,000.

Historical landmarks, like the manufacture of the famous Windsor Chair in the 19th Century, have ensured that the town remained relevant as time continued to pass.

The month-long exhibition, in collaboration with the High Wycombe Bid Co, will feature photographs of the town in all its glory from over the years.

An official opening will be carried out by town Mayor Cllr Arif Hussain. Those who attend the opening will also be treated to free coffee and cake.
