Lorraine Kelley has reportedly had permission granted to extend her £2 million cottage extended, following an alleged disagreement with neighbours over her application to have a tree felled.

The ITV star’s boathouse home in Bourne End allegedly boasts a large sitting room with a vaulted ceiling and cast-iron log burner, a 24ft conservatory, bijoux guest house and 100ft wide garden.

The property also has a summerhouse, boat mooring and landing stage with stunning views across the River Thames.

The Sun reports that the pair are now planning to add an 18ft wide single-storey side extension, projecting a further 15ft out onto an existing lawn, to create a bigger master bedroom including a dressing room and en-suite bathroom.

The morning TV host and her husband Steve Smith needed consent because the home is deemed to be a heritage asset in a designated conservation area.

Permission has also been reportedly granted for a new conservation roof light and painted timber double-glazed doors.

A source told the publication: “The bedroom would have a pair of matching windows to the north and a set of French doors with side lights to the west, leading to a small deck and the views over the river.”

It is reported that permission was granted after receiving no objections from neighbours.

However, it hasn’t been plain sailing for the star, who allegedly faced a planning battle with her neighbours over an application to fell a large pine tree.

According to reports, Lorraine previously applied to have a pine tree felled after bird droppings and pine needles were causing a problem for the Scottish presenter.

As the tree was subject to a Tree Preservation Order, planning permission was needed to fell the outsize pine.

The application was declined after alleged disapproval from her neighbours with Buckinghamshire Council describing the tree as “one of several large, mature pines” in the local conservation area.

The couple moved back to Buckinghamshire five years ago to be closer to Lorraine's work in London with ITV, after living in Dundee.

She often shares glimpses of her home and reported from it during the pandemic in episodes called 'Lorraine on Lockdown' as well as filming Celebrity Gogglebox from her living room with daughter Rosie for Channel 4.
