A road closure in Marlow caused concern from residents over "bad planning".

Chapel Street was closed between August 20 and 22 following an "emergency" for BT with the work being described as "essential".

Residents took to social media to vent their frustration after being caught out by the sudden closure.

The road acts a main route into the town centre from the Westhorpe junction and the A404 direction.

It is claimed that the bus services were not informed of the closure.

The road now is being controlled by traffic lights as more work is being completed by Scottish and Southern Power Distribution.

The work is being completed as there is a new house being built which requires all its utilities connected.

These works will take place until August 29.

Transport for Bucks recommnes One.Network as a "useful website and tool" that gives information on local roadworks.
