A HIGH Wycombe restuarant has received a new food hygiene rating.

Harvester at The Blacksmiths Arms has received the best possible rating by food hygiene inspectors.

The restuarant in Old Marlow Road, High Wycombe has been rated as a five, meaning it's 'very good'.

Food safety and hygiene officers visited the restaurant for their most recent inspection on August 17, this year.

They were praised as being 'very good' for their hygienic food handling (including preparation, cooking, reheating, cooling and storage).

The cleanliness and condition of the facilities and the building were regarded as good as well as their management of food safety - the checks in place to ensure the food they are serving is safe to eat and evidence that staff know about food safety - was rated as needing major improvement.

Overall, inspectors gave it a five rating out of five.

It means that of Buckinghamshire's 447 pubs, bars and nightclubs with ratings, 286 (64 per cent) have ratings of five and none have zero ratings.

The Harvester is a chain restuarant popular with families and known especially for their salad bars.

Their main menu includes their famous rotisserie chicken and smoked bbq pork belly.

The reviews are largely positive on Google, with an overall score of 3.6 out of five. One person, reviewing the food a week ago, said they "visited last night and had a lovely meal with delicious fresh food."
