A High Wycombe man who skipped buying a train ticket and then gave a fake name when challenged by a member of staff has been ordered to pay up.
Hannaan Hussain, aged 20, of Adelaide Road, failed to pay for the £58 ticket from Retford to High Wycombe on February 11 this year.
When he was caught out and challenged by a member of staff at the railway station, Hussain lied and gave out a fake name and address.
Unfortunately for the offender, his actions eventually caught up with him and he was brought to court.
At a hearing on August 3, Hussain pleaded guilty to travelling on a railway without paying a fare and giving false details to a railway officer.
After hearing the evidence, Hussain was made to pay £58.30 in compensation to the railway company.
He was also fined £80 and ordered to pay £84 in court costs.
