Fans of a Non League team will walk nearly five hours to watch a match over the three-day weekend to help a local charity.

Supporters of Aylesbury United Football Club will make the journey on Bank Holiday Monday from the town council’s building to Broadwater Stadium, the home of Berkhamsted FC.

The match between the two clubs will kick off at 3pm on August 29, and those making the game via their legs will have to walk around 14 ½ miles during the 279-minute journey.

Rich Lloyd, who is one of the walkers, confirmed to the BFP that the charity event is to help the Aylesbury Foodbank.

The initial target was to raise £500 for the cause but at the time of writing, £571.25 has been donated so far.
