A driver has managed to survive a serious accident on the M40 after they blew twice over the legal drink limit.

During the morning of Sunday, August 28, the emergency services were called out to the motorway after being notified of a crash.

Once they arrived, they carried out tests on the motorist where they discovered that they blew twice over the drink-drive limit.

The person in question, who managed to avoid any serious injuries, was taken to hospital to undergo a series of impairment tests with the authorities.

An image of the badly damaged car was then shared onto the Thame Valley Police Roads Policing Twitter page, which urged people to not be ‘selfish’ when having a few drinks and getting into their vehicles.
