A drug dealer has been jailed for more than five years after he was caught with "significant" amounts of cocaine and cannabis.

Gregory Smith, 39, has been locked away for five years and seven months after he was caught in Aylesbury with the illegal substances.

On July 27 last year, officers pulled the Smith, of Tugela Street in London, over for an unrelated offence.

After carrying out a search of his vehicle, they discovered large quantities of cocaine, cannabis and £800 in cash.

Smith was arrested and later charged with possession with intent to supply cocaine, possession with intent to supply cannabis and driving whilst disqualified.

He went on to plead guilty to all three charges and was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Tuesday.

Investigating officer, PC James Gordon, of the Aylesbury Stronghold Team, said: “Gregory Smith will now spend a significant period of time in prison as a result of his drug dealing activities, ultimately he had no other choice but to plead guilty at his first opportunity.

“Smith is an established drug dealer and I am glad that the courts have given him a fitting sentence.

“The Aylesbury Stronghold team will continue to pursue drug dealers, who cause untold harm in our communities.
